Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Win Finder ("the Application"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.
2. License
Win Finder is released under the MIT License. You are free to:
- Use the Application for any purpose, personal or commercial
- Copy, modify, and distribute the source code
- Include it in your own projects
The only requirement is that the MIT License notice and copyright statement are preserved in any copy or substantial portion of the software. The full license text is available in the GitHub repository.
3. The application is provided "as is"
Win Finder is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In plain terms: the software works well and is actively maintained, but file management involves real data. You are responsible for keeping backups of important files.
4. Limitation of liability
The developer of Win Finder shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Application, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or any other incidental or consequential damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
5. File system access
Win Finder is a file manager. It will read, display, move, copy, rename, and delete files on your Mac as directed by your actions within the application. Operations that delete files permanently (Shift+Delete) display a confirmation dialog. Standard deletions move items to the Trash, which is recoverable. Use the Application with appropriate care.
6. Extension system
Win Finder supports a local extension system that executes shell commands you configure. Extensions are entirely user-defined and run under your macOS user account. The developer takes no responsibility for the behavior of third-party extensions or commands you configure and run through the extension system.
7. Third-party components
Win Finder uses file-icon-vectors by dmhendricks, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. All other components are original or otherwise noted in the repository.
8. No support obligation
Support is provided on a best-effort basis through GitHub Issues. There is no obligation to respond to support requests or to provide updates, though the project is actively maintained and contributions are welcome.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated occasionally. The date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Milan, Italy.
11. Contact
